NEED PRAYER?
United Methodist Men invite you to phone their PRAYER LINE=800-251-2468. Someone is there 24 hours a day to pray with you to God through our loving savior, Jesus Christ.
LOCAL PRAYER CHAIN = 762-1243 If you or someone you know has a physical, spiritual or emotinal need, please telephone 762-1243. Deloris Robinson will activate our Albright Church's prayer chain so that many persons will lift your need up to God in prayer. If someone is in the hospital, they may be put on our Albright Church's Care Committee's visitation list.

Below are some prayer requests that have come to us in the past 7 days.

**********************************************************************************************************

3-20-2010 Please keep our Pianist Jason Stillwell in your prayers.  He had eye surgery on Thursday.

3-19-2010  Please keep  our Custodian, Theo Spraggins, and his family in your prayers.  His father passed away last night.

3-19-2010  This week at Larry's appointment, the Dr. told us there is a 2nd mass but this one is going into his brain and  they want to hold off on doing a biopsy because it would consist of major brain surgery. The Dr. spoke with some Neurologists there at OU and they feel it is not cancer and feel if they go into his brain it will cause more prob such as stroke, etc. They have decided to hold off till June 15th and at that time they will do another brain scan to see if any changes, If it has grown then they will more then likely schedule his biopsy. They are hoping by holding off till then that the radiation treatments that he had last month will have time to shrink those areas. Please continue to keep him in your players that these will dissolve we know God can do it.       Thank you,   Tonya

3-17-2010 Thelma Stewart got home from the hospital last night.  She is doing well and thanks you all for your continued prayers.3-16-2010  The following is an update on Don Appleman.  Let's continue to keep him in our prayers:  "I saw Dr. Vaidia yesterday. Scans say I have fractured 12th vertebrae. Can treat with some sort of cement, but doctor does not want to do that unless I begin having more pain than I do. So guess I'll just live with it for now. Thanks for all your prayers and concern, but I have improved a lot from what I was like the end of 09. Very little pain."

3-16-2010 Thank you for praying for Courtney during this latest flare-up of her PTSD.  She is finally better and will try to return to work on Wednesday, after being off a week and a half.  Please pray for her as she drives and then works from 11:15 until 8 pm the rest of the week.  She has been very sick, but her new medicines and her therapy are making a difference.  She is finally sleeping also.  Of course, we know the real Healer is God!  Thanks again for praying for her.                 About my back surgery...it is now scheduled for April 14th at 12:30 at Mercy Hospital in OKC.  I have to be cleared by Dr Schiff, my cardiologist, because of the fluid around my heart and the atherosclerosis in my aorta.  Then I have to donate a pint of blood to be given back to me during surgery.  After all that, I will have to be off my blood thinner for two weeks before surgery.  The doctor plans to remove the screws and rods on the right side of my spine, leaving the left alone, remove the new ruptured disk, then replace the hardware, moving up one vertebrae on the right side.  This will make the fusion be "staggered" which will cause my spine to be somewhat unstable, but the doctor thinks it's the best way to go.  He said, there is a slight possibility that he will have to go back in later and remove and replace the right side also, but does not want to have to cut out and replace any more than is necessary, because of all the scar tissue.  He will not be taking any of my hip bone for a graft, as before.  I trust this neurosurgeon.  This will be a pretty extensive surgery.  I have confidence in the power of God and His healing power which we receive through our fervent prayers.  I am not nervous, just want to get rid of this constant pain.  Thank you for your love and your prayers.  We are comforted.   Believing God will do what He says He will do.  Paula

3-16-2010 As you all have probably heard, two small children have died from meningococcal disease in Oolagah.  Four children are still hospitalized, and a new case was identified yesterday in a highschool senior.  Her spinal tap did not initially indicate the meningitis, but doctors at Bailey Medical (which is where I had my surgery) didn't take chances and started the treatment anyway.  Later blood tests showed she had the disease, so fortunately, she was already being treated.  One of the children is in extremely critical condition.  He was given a 25% chance of survival, with the potential of losing all four limbs.  The newspaper today indicates he  is holding his own, and recently doctors have found a pulse in both legs and his left arm, so there is hope.  His family credits this good news to prayer.  They are giving praise to God and refusing to think negatively.  So, dear Albright family, let's do what we do best and pray hard for this little guy.  His name is Jeremiah Mitchell and he is six years old.  Also, pray for the others infected with this disease.  There are only 2,000 cases diagnosed in the U.S. YEARLY, and Oolagah has 7 this year.   Thanks to all of you.  Love,   Carolyn Stewart

3-16-2010 I would like to ask for prayer for James' cousin, Steven Kanelakos and family.  Steven's daughter, Lynn died Friday.  She had a stomach ulcer rupture .. She was on life support until Friday at which time they took her off.  Then on Saturday night, Lynn's  husband, Bruce, had a heart attack.  His neighbor, a doctor, heard the police scanner and rushed over to help him. He was without pulse and the doctor applied CPR. Bruce was helicoptered to Wichita and was on life support for about 24 hours.  He was without oxygen too long, and the doctors in Wichita determined he was brain dead.  They took him off life support last night.  They have three children, one of which is still at home.  The service for Lynn is tomorrow afternoon in Ark City.  Not sure about Bruce.  At one time, they were going to have both of them tomorrow at the same time.  This is so hard to believe.  Please keep this entire family in your prayers.  Thank  you,  Sandy

3-15-2010 Please keep Opal Brown in your prayers.  She was feeling very light headed during church yesterday, so Katie took her home.  She was able to rest and she is feeling better now.

3-14-2010 Mary Sue Johns passed away on Friday.  The service for Mary Sue Johns, Bob Anthony's sister, was at Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell at 11:00 a.m. Saturday  morning the 12th.  Our minister, Rev. Scott Spencer, presided at the service.   Please keep her family in your prayers. She had fallen on Wednesday and boken her hip.
