7-1-09 Byron " Buzz" Goodger will be leaving the hospital from his lengthy stay tomorrow. He`s still very weak, & struggling with rehab after falling off his house 11 days before Father`s Day. My Daddy is a really tough & independent man for 85 yrs...but will have to keep full time nursing & home care for awhile longer. He`s so thankful to be returning home, & wants me to thank all of you for your prayers & hopes you`ll continue to think of him. He`ll have to deal with the anurysm (groin) & lung problem at a later date when he`s stronger. I love all of you & appreciate so much your cares & concerns. Love, Sandy Carnero
7-1-09Jeanette Swanson, Lawanna Gann's daughter, is having surgery this morning in Stillwater. Please keep her in your prayers. pa
6-30-09 I'd like to request prayer for myself. I've been diagnosed with a fairly severe case of cellulitis which is an active and potentially dangerous skin infection. I'm currently being treated with IV antibiotics three times a day in hopes of avoiding hospitalization. Thank you all and God Bless. I'll let you know my progress as soon as there's any changes. > Kirk Allen
6-26-09 Cason, Michelle and Cory Landes announce the arrival of Cohen Parker, June 23rd. Mother and Baby are doing fine. Grandmother Cheri Rutledge Brown, says he is beautiful. We haven't seen him yet but from his picture we are sure we would agree. Great Grandparents, Joyce and Don
6-25-09 Please pray for our Stillwater District International VIM Trip to Costa Rica which will begin June 26. If you have need of a district superintendent for any emergency situation while Supt. Burt Pots is on the VIM Trip , three district superintendents will be on call to serve you if needed. Gary Holdeman/Enid District – 580-233-1901,Dan Pulver/NOKC District – 405-607-2483, Mike Chaffin/Tulsa District – 918-742-7496
6-25-09 Gene Warner's brother- in-law James Sloan passed away Tuesday morning. He was Gene's sister Geri's husband. The funeral service will be held at Trout Funeral Home on Saturday. Please keep the entire family in your prayer during this difficult time. pa 6-24-09 Well, we initially did not have to come to Wichita; however, she was released from PC hospital Tuesday noon to go over and do dialysis and then to go home. They were unable to draw enough fluid off of her and when I took her home, we ended up having to call the ambulance and go back to PC hospital ER where they transferred her to Wichita where we are now. What a roller coaster. We got up here about 11:00 pm and finally settled in about 2:00. We both were exhausted and slept well after that. She is now at dialysis where they will try to get more fluid off of her. The fluid is the result of them having to give her IV fluids in the PC hospital to help her tummy but putting too much on as far as her kidneys are concerned. Not sure how long we will be here. Hopefully only a couple of days. That is the plan at this 10 seconds, but as you all know, it can change in a heart beat. The reason Ponca City dialysis patients have to come here for fluid overload is that PC Hospital does NOT have an in-patient dialysis center. So hard for these patients. We are told they are working on it though so let's hope Ponca will have on in the near future. She is so tired - I feel so sorry for her. One thing, however, is that this hospital is amazing. St. Frances in Wichita. The staff is great and so willing to help. Not one of them has come in without a smile and a positive attitude and willingness to help Mom in any way possible and to make me comfortable. And, there is wonderful ice tea and coffee right outside Mom's door - I have to look for a bright spot . Please pray for strength and peace for her. She is a very strong lady, but there's a limit. Thanks as always for your prayers. Love, Sandy
6-22-09Thanks so much to Kay & "Open door Class" sending out the early note about my Daddy, Byron "Buzz" Goodger....we received more info today.....he fell 15 ft off his house in South Carolina about 12 days ago...."blowing leaves out of gutters"!!! He landed on cement, which caused the "brain bleed" when he hit his head.....he broke his pelvis in 2 places, the back turned out to be some cracked vertebrea. He`s always been a very active, strong 85 yr old....being in his favor. Because of the fall....all the testing revealed an anurysm in the groin....very large, requiring surgery as soon as he`s strong enough, & they also found a mass in his lung. He`s been moved to a rehabilitation hospital near his home for now. My brothers here are Gordon & Lester Goodger.....we have a sister, Terry Williams & family that live near the hospital. Please keep all of them & our families here in your prayers. Thank ou all so very much. Love, Sandy Carnero
6-22-09 We got a call this morning from Ray Balthrop saying his friend Jackie Jackson's Mother died this morning and he wanted us to pass the word for them. Please keep Jackie's family in your prayers. Thank you so much. Marlene Wittmer
6-19-09We want to thank you all for the prayers for our Mom's this past week. I know that a lot of you pray for them all the time, but those "extras" that went up gave us the opportunity to get away for a few days. We attended James' 5th annual Viet Nam reunion in Gatlinburg, TN and then 10 of us went on up into Tennessee to visit one of the couples who plan this each year. We had a wonderful time and a much rested time that we both needed so very badly. Our Mom's did fine. I am so thankful also that Amy and Will along with our nephew came and helped out for a few days and made sure all was going well. Of course the Grandmas loved that too. I have another joy to share. Will has a job - Yeah!!! Thank you God! He has a job with a commercial construction company as a Superintendent. Something he has really wanted to do. God does have a plan and when He closes a door, He opens a window. Thank you all for praying for them too.
