The Site includes the Standing Bear Statue and Trail; picnic grounds; six local tribal viewing courts and markers, a powwow arena and arbour and specialized tours for all ages. PIONEER WOMEN'S MUSEUM AND STATUE AT LAKE ROAD AND MONUMENT DRIVE. The Site includes the pioneer Woman Statue and kiosk information; a gift shop; a trageling exhibit room; specialized tours for all ages; an interactive youth discovery progran and folk art insstitute classes. PONCA CITY CITY HALL AND CENTENNIAL PLAZA AT 5TH AND GRAND. The Site is on the national register and includes a renovated 1917-1928 Spanish Colonial building: Fire Stateion No. 1; specialized tours for all ages; the B.S. Barnes Memorial; The Cherokee Strip Centennial Rider Statue; E.W. Marland Statue; and Lew Wentz Statue, City Council Camber and offices of Ponca City. Free admission. MARLAND GRAND HOME AT 1000 EAST GRAND. The site in on the National Register. It is a 1914-1916 Spanish Colonial Prairie Style Home; specialized tours for all ages; thisis the Marland family home and exhibits; Native American Exhibit; 101 Rance exhibit, nd Daughters of the American Revolution exhibit; WW 2 Darr Flight Training School and Louise Fluke Oklahoma Flag Plaza. MARLAND ESTATE 901 MONUMENT ROAD. This site is on the National Register and National Landmark Property. It is 1928 Italian Renaissance Villa Estate with original furnishings; gift shop; specialized tours for all ages; Marland Oil Museum; Bryan Baker Artist Studio and Galleryexhibit; Lydie Marland Cottage/Carriage House and Marland Family Museum. CONOCO HISTORY MUSEUM AT 510 WEST SOUTH AVENUE. Exhibits depicting the history and heritage of Marland Oil, Continental Oil Co. and Concoco. Specialized tours for all ages. Volunteers in Mission is a program open to all Senior Citizens who want to travel and do something for the people they visit around the world. NOMADS is part of the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission outreach in the United States involving people who travel in RVs for 3 week projects. About 1,100 members of the United Methodist Church's NOMADS (Nomads on a Mission Active in Divine Service) travel across the United States repairing homes and buildings. Last year, NOMADS worked on 121 three-week projects from South Carolina to California, Their work totaled $1.6 million in donated labor. Their average age is 68, and Joanne Smith says some of her friends in the group are nearing 80.She has no immediate plans to scale back her NOMADS work, but when she does eventually decide to stay closer to home, she hopes other volunteers take her place. They take one or more day trips primarily in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas utilizing their 11 passenger church van and car pools. They also have other activities for Senior Citizens.
Elder Hostels is a well established program around the world, where senior citizens can go and stay for days, weeks, or months. They are usually participate in educatonal classes and activities.
