FREE FISHING DAYS:  Oklahoma has a couple of days in early June ( Jn. 4,5, in 2005) in which persons can try out fishing when they  do not need an Oklahoma Fishing License, but do have to abide by the rules in the "Oklahoma Fishing Guide". Local city etc. licesences may be in effect. 

Lifetime Oklalhoma Fishing and Hunting  Licenses for persons 65 and older may be purchased in Oklahoma. Get applications from Wal-Mart and other stores selling fishing and hunting equipment and supplies.

 Lifetime Ponca City Lake Fishing Licenses for persons 65 and older may be purchased after you have your Oklahoma State Lifetime Fishing and Hunting  License. They are available from the Ponca City Park Department at 905 West Hartford Street in Ponca City, Ok. Phone=767-0430

OKLAHOMA HUNTING

Check in stations in or near  Ponca City are:  Lakeside Grocery, 8990 Lake Rd. west of Kaw Dam,Phone 765-0652  and Snyder's Grocery, Old Hwy. 60, 1315 West North Avenue.  Phone 762-4686.

Public Lands:  John Dahl Wildlife Management Area and Kaw Wildlife Management Area are closest to Ponca City.  For information on hunting these lands, check pages 38-39 of the free "Oklahoma Hunting Guide," or click on   http://wildlifedepartment.com . Check with land owners of private lands before hunting. No guns may be shot within Ponca City. 

Trap Shooting:  Sundays at the Trap Shooting Club on Hiway 60 West of Ponca City. 0pen to the public.
