Many Ponca City Area Senior Citizens enjoy the activities at

 Monday-Friday: 9-11:30AM -1-3PM  Free=Table Games, Visiting,  Puzzels, large screenTV, Video & Computer Games, Darts,  Pool, Magazines,   Books,  Newspaper, Use of free internet accessable computers(if class not using them), Referrals to Legal Aid and other services.   10-11:30AM=You can volunteer to help with food serving and meal delivery . Those delivering are reumbursed mileage expenses.    Lunch Served for those eating at the Senior Center at 11:30AM, $2 donation for Sr. Citizens, all others =$6, reservations required=767-1620;


Tuesday:

Wednesday 10:30-11:30AM  Free Live music.
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday= Free  Exercise Class  9:30AM;

OUR ANNUAL SENIOR CITIZEN APPRECIATION DINNER IS HELD  ON  SUNDAY, APRIL 3, 2005  AT 11:30AM  IN OUR FELLOWSHIP HALL

 Senior Citizens at Albright United Methodist Church enjoy participating in Worship at l0:30AM by singing in the Sanctuary Choir,

playing the piano or bells in the Bell Choir, and helping

with the ushering, and worship leading. Some Seniors

 help teach Sunday School Classes. Three of our Sunday

 School Classes are especially for Senior Citizens. These

 classes have social outings and other service and social

activities. Many Seniors participate in the  United Methodist Women's organizations, which includes  and afternoon and evening circles. 

 The Wednesday quilting, Friday Bible Study, the

Committees, Administrative Council and as officers in

 the Church. Some have gone as far as Alaska on

 Volunteer in Mission projects. Local missions projects

 to repair housing is mainly done by volunteering Senior

 Citizens through the Mission Committee. Senior Citizens maintain and

 have done much of the photography for

 this web site which has links to daily devotionals and

 other religious magazines on line. The Albright Church

is "Handicapped Accessible" with an elevator and special equipment in

 the restrooms. There are wheelchairs

and walkers available at the rear entrance where

there are also 5 handicapped parking places. The

Church has a van which can pick up those who request transportation.

We have healing services on 5th Sundays.

 For those who are shut in, in the hospital,

assisted living and nursing homes, we  have a

Prayer Chain that can be phoned with requests, or

can be helped by Seniors volunteering to pray. We

have a 24 hour prayer line manned by United Methodist Men.

We have a Care Committee who visit in the homes as well as our

pastor, Dr. Sheila Combs-Francis. For more information, check out

camping opportunities and

Volunteer In Mission Opportunities for Senior Citizens. 

The United Methodist Committee on Older Adult

Ministries has a limited amount of grant money

available. According to Rick Gentzler, director of

 the Center of Aging and Older Adult Ministries at

he General Board of Discipleship, the purpose of

 the grants is to develop intentional, innovative

 and creative ministries with older adults. Deadline
